The Rock Unit is comprised of 18 labeled rock specimens and corresponding classroom materials. There are six specimens of Sedimentary, Metamorphic and Igneous rock types. Each rock type specimens are in labeled boxes. The Rock Materials include six different classroom activities. Included are Rock Information Cards which can be used to define and be matched to the specimens and Tables of each rock type, which has pieces to place on the chart and a control of error. Also included is Rock Cycle cards and reproducible student charts for identifying characteristics of rocks. This unit is designed to be also to introduce each rock type individually.
